Notice that the actual dimensions are smaller than 14 inches. If a laptop is claiming to be 14 inches, this doesn’t mean that the actual dimensions are exactly 14 inches in width or height.
The measurement of 14 inches is based on the screen size of the laptop measured diagonally from corner to corner. It does not include the trim around the screen.
Therefore a 14-inch laptop can be slightly smaller or larger depending on each manufacturer. They are not all the same size.
This is very similar to how a tv or monitor is measured.

If you find the 14-inch laptop to be too small for your liking, you may end up adding external equipment like a monitor or keyboard.
This will only add to the overall size where it can be too big.
Personally, I am a fan of the 15.6-inch laptop size, but it really depends on the intended use. Many people find the 14-inch laptop to be a perfect size for them.
