32-Inch Monitor Dimensions (Exact Size Shown)
If you are in the market for a new computer monitor, you will have a variety of size options to choose from.
It can be difficult to pick the right size for your needs if you don’t know the exact dimensions of the monitor ahead of time.
The size number provided by the manufacturer (in this case 32 inches), refers to screen size and does not mean the actual size of the monitor is 32 inches.
Dimensions of a 32-inch monitor
On average, a 32-inch monitor has dimensions of 29 inches wide x 20 inches tall x 8 inches thick including the stand. These dimensions can vary between brands.

The LG FHD 32-inch monitor has dimensions of 28.7 x 20.2 x 8.2 inches.
Screen size
The screen size refers to the diagonal measurement of the actual screen, extending from one corner to the opposite corner.
It’s important to note that this measurement does not include the trim of the monitor.
The trim size for each monitor can vary between brands.
The following factors affect a monitor’s actual dimensions.
- Aspect ratio
- Bezel size
Aspect ratio
The aspect ratio refers to the ratio of the width and height of an image. Aspect ratio is shown with 2 numbers seperated by a colon.
For example, an image with the aspect ratio of 16:9 will always have the width of 16 and the height of 9 units of the same length.
Therefore, 16 inches wide and 9 inches high images as well as 32 inches wide and 18 inches high images have the same 16:9 aspect ratio.
Bezel size
The bezel of a monitor refers to the area of a display that surrounds the screen also known as the border or trim.
If a monitor has a 1″ trim around the screen, the bezel size is 1″.
It’s also possible for a screen to have different bezel sizes. For example, a certain monitor may have 1″ bezel size on the top and sides but a 3″ bezel size on the bottom.

32-Inch Monitor vs 27-Inch Monitor Size
Although the difference in size is not significant, if you place both a 32-inch monitor and a 27-inch monitor side by side, you will notice a size difference.
Knowing that the average 32-inch monitor is 29″ wide x 20″ tall, you will see that this monitor is around 5 inches wider and 4″ taller than a 27-inch monitor.
The average 27-inch monitor has dimensions of 24″ wide x 17″ tall.

Another difference between a 32-inch monitor and a 27-inch monitor is screen resolution.
A 32-inch monitor has a screen resolution of 3840 x 2160 and a 27-inch monitor has a screen resolution of 2560 x 1440. A 4K 27-inch monitor has resolution of 3840 x 2160.
