9 Everyday Items That Weigh 300 Grams

In this article, I will show you the weight of some common everyday items that weigh around 300 grams.

Grams are normally used to weigh smaller objects but they can be used for some larger things as well.

It can be difficult to know exactly the weight of an item without using a scale.

Referencing the weight of other items can be very helpful when determining just how heavy 300 grams really is.

300 grams is equal to 10.58 ounces or 0.66 pounds.

2 chicken breasts

Chicken breasts are often weighed before cooking which is quite simple to do with a food scale.

One of the easiest ways to know the weight of a chicken breast is to simply look at the packaging before you purchase it.

The weight should be shown on the package.

Although not all chicken breasts weigh the same, on average each boneless breast will weigh around 150 grams.

This weight can vary based on the size, whether it is cooked or raw, and whether the chicken breast is boneless or not.

If the chicken is pre-frozen, it will weigh slightly more as well.

If you have 2 raw and boneless chicken breasts, they will be close to 300 grams in weight.

50 pencils

Pencils are one of the most common and well-known writing and drawing tools in the world.

A wood pencil contains graphite lead which is embedded inside the wood.

When these pencils are new and not used, they will weigh around 6 grams each.

As they are used and sharpened, the pencils will become smaller and therefore weigh less.

If you had 50 brand new standard-size pencils, they would weigh 300 grams together.

2 oranges

The orange is known as a citrus fruit that many people eat for breakfast or it can be used to make orange juice.

Oranges grow on trees and are readily available at most grocery stores and farm markets.

Oranges are one of those fruits that are not all the same size.

There are different types of oranges including tangerine, navel, and blood orange.

Each orange can vary in weight but on average, a regular-sized orange will weigh between 140-160 grams.

So 2 oranges will give you a good idea of something that weighs 300 grams.

10 slices of bread

For this example, let’s look at a normal-sized loaf of homemade white bread as there can be many variables that will affect the weight of the bread.

With so many different types of bread available, the ingredients can vary greatly and affect the bread weight.

Also, the size of the slice will affect the weight as well.

But on average, a normal-sized slice of white bread will weigh close to 30 grams each.

10 slices of this same bread placed on top of each other will weigh about 300 grams total.

3 cups of almonds

Believe it or not, the almond is not a nut.

Almonds are actually drupe fruit that is made from an almond tree.

They are considered to be edible seeds.

Almonds are very common to eat and have many health benefits.

When thinking of the weight of almonds, many people will use cups to weigh them.

1 cup of almonds weigh around 100 grams and therefore 3 cups will weigh 300 grams.

Tennis racquet

The size and weight of a tennis racquet have changed quite a bit over the years.

These days tennis racquets are made of different materials and are available in a variety of sizes to suit all players.

6 Large eggs

Did you know that the weight of an egg changes based on the age of the hen?

Older hens will produce heavier eggs and younger hens produce lighter eggs.

Also, the size of eggs can vary as well.

Many eggs are sold as small, medium, large, and extra-large.

A half dozen or 6 large-sized eggs will weigh around 300 grams.

2 Cricket balls

Cricket is a very popular sport first played in South East England in the 16th century but is now played around the world.

Cricket is played among 2 teams with 11 players on each side using a bat and ball.
