9 Everyday Items That Weigh 300 Grams

In this article, I will show you the weight of some common everyday items that weigh around 300 grams.
Grams are normally used to weigh smaller objects but they can be used for some larger things as well.
It can be difficult to know exactly the weight of an item without using a scale.
Referencing the weight of other items can be very helpful when determining just how heavy 300 grams really is.
300 grams is equal to 10.58 ounces or 0.66 pounds.
2 chicken breasts
Chicken breasts are often weighed before cooking which is quite simple to do with a food scale.
One of the easiest ways to know the weight of a chicken breast is to simply look at the packaging before you purchase it.
The weight should be shown on the package.
Although not all chicken breasts weigh the same, on average each boneless breast will weigh around 150 grams.
This weight can vary based on the size, whether it is cooked or raw, and whether the chicken breast is boneless or not.
If the chicken is pre-frozen, it will weigh slightly more as well.
If you have 2 raw and boneless chicken breasts, they will be close to 300 grams in weight.

50 pencils
Pencils are one of the most common and well-known writing and drawing tools in the world.
A wood pencil contains graphite lead which is embedded inside the wood.
When these pencils are new and not used, they will weigh around 6 grams each.
As they are used and sharpened, the pencils will become smaller and therefore weigh less.
If you had 50 brand new standard-size pencils, they would weigh 300 grams together.
2 oranges
The orange is known as a citrus fruit that many people eat for breakfast or it can be used to make orange juice.
Oranges grow on trees and are readily available at most grocery stores and farm markets.
Oranges are one of those fruits that are not all the same size.
There are different types of oranges including tangerine, navel, and blood orange.
Each orange can vary in weight but on average, a regular-sized orange will weigh between 140-160 grams.

For this example, let’s look at a normal-sized loaf of homemade white bread as there can be many variables that will affect the weight of the bread.
With so many different types of bread available, the ingredients can vary greatly and affect the bread weight.
Also, the size of the slice will affect the weight as well.
But on average, a normal-sized slice of white bread will weigh close to 30 grams each.
10 slices of this same bread placed on top of each other will weigh about 300 grams total.
3 cups of almonds
Believe it or not, the almond is not a nut.
Almonds are actually drupe fruit that is made from an almond tree.
They are considered to be edible seeds.
Almonds are very common to eat and have many health benefits.
When thinking of the weight of almonds, many people will use cups to weigh them.
1 cup of almonds weigh around 100 grams and therefore 3 cups will weigh 300 grams.

These days tennis racquets are made of different materials and are available in a variety of sizes to suit all players.
Most adult tennis players will use a racquet that is 27 inches long and weighs 300 grams.
Beginners will generally use a racquet that is lighter than 300 grams, but most professional players will use a much heavier racquet.

6 Large eggs

1 large-sized egg weighs around 50 grams.
A half dozen or 6 large-sized eggs will weigh around 300 grams.
2 Cricket balls
Cricket is a very popular sport first played in South East England in the 16th century but is now played around the world.
Cricket is played among 2 teams with 11 players on each side using a bat and ball.
The cricket ball used weighs between 155.9 grams and 163 grams.
Therefore 2 cricket balls will weigh just over 300 grams total.
48 Loonie coins
Coins from around the world are great to reference for weight purposes.
The Loonie is a coin commonly used in Canada and is equal to 1 dollar in value.
The Loonie was introduced in 1987 and initially weighed 6.998 grams.
In 2012, the composition of the coin changed resulting in a lower weight of 6.27 grams.
Knowing that each Loonie coin now weighs 6.27 grams, 48 of these coins weigh 300.96 grams.
